IV Access Services

IV Access Services by Vascular Wellness are the Smart & Safe Choice for your vascular access needs. We are your on-demand, customized vascular access solution offering various services to address your patient’s care. Our vascular access services include standard and advanced line placement, infection prevention and control, onsite education and training, and full administrative support services, which include our 24/7 Vascular Support Team (VST). Our IV Access Services encompass a multi-state area, and, unlike other nursing companies that only place PIVs, Midlines, and PICCs for adults, our services include Dialysis Catheters (such as Acute/Temp Vas Caths and Tunneled Perm Caths), Tunneled Central Lines, Large Bore Quad Lumens, Internal Jugulars, Mid-Thigh Femorals, Axillaries, Arterial Lines, PICCs, Midlines, Extended Dwell PIVs, and PIVs for adult and pediatric patients of all ages. Our IV Access Services are performed by Skill-Verified, Board-Certified, Insured, and Salaried W2 Employees. We serve our clients and patients 7 days/week with 3-hour average response time, >98% success rate, and 0% Insertion-related infection rate. We deliver comprehensive IV Access Services with competitive pricing and unrivaled consistency and reliability.

IV Access Services

IV Access Services, PICC Services, and Vascular Access Services are sometimes used interchangeably in the industry to describe the general area of vascular access services, and we do so similarly on this page (even though we feel that they have different meanings). Our IV Access Services are nurse-provided vascular access services delivered to the patient’s bedside. Our mobile IV Access Services are very different from a standard PICC or IV Access company that offers only standard lines by contracted nurses or a standard general mobile healthcare company that offers a suite of mobile healthcare services such as X-ray and blood draws but doesn’t specialize in IV Access. At Vascular Wellness, we invest 100% of our time and energy in providing our clients and their patients with unparalleled vascular access solutions. We have built our company around vascular access and created an infrastructure to support our client partners. As a result, we have earned the reputation of providing the best and most reliable and safe patient care.

IV Access and IV Access Services

IV Access Services

Our IV Access Services are delivered to your patient’s bedside by Vascular Wellness’ vascular access expert clinicians. Our clinicians are highly skilled in the field of vascular access, so much so that our healthcare partners often call us for a consult instead of prescribing a specific line and, with that, authorize and direct us to place the line we feel is most clinically appropriate. Our IV Access Services automatically include a full patient evaluation, including the patient’s history and current lab reports. Often times, our highly-skilled clinicians come across unforeseen contraindications and can assist the medical team in finding a better, safer solution to optimize patient outcomes and reduce future complications.

Furthermore, our clinicians arrive at your facility with all the necessary equipment and supplies to deliver unparalleled IV Access Services, enabling you to focus on other practice areas. Arriving onsite with all the required equipment to place standard or advanced lines saves valuable time, enables faster therapy, and avoids transportation costs, especially if there is a change in the initially prescribed line. We schedule our employee clinicians to help ensure the redundancy of skill sets across a geographic area so we can properly serve our clients and patients. Other companies with their 1099 model may not even have nurses ready to dispatch as they are subject to nurse availability, delaying treatment. In all instances, our IV Access Services are a seamless extension of our client’s clinical and administrative teams, providing clinical expertise and administrative support, including credentialing and quality and other reports as needed internally and externally, such as by The Joint Commission. In addition, our call center or VST operates (a) during business hours, working closely with a clinician trained to clinically evaluate incoming requests and connect clients with field clinicians, and (b) outside on-site service hours, with the ability to escalate to a clinician to help address situations remotely and prioritize needs during the next available clinical hours.

IV Access Services Experts

IV Access Experts

As IV Access Experts, we dedicate 100% of our time, effort, and resources to vascular access, including quality, safety, innovation, and education and training. We actively participate with AVA, INS, CDC, IDSA, Nursing License Boards, Hospital Boards, and The Joint Commission. Our nurse clinicians are Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC), insured, semi-annually skill-verified, and salaried W2 employees, which means we ensure consistent, reliable, quality services to the patient’s bedside. In addition to potential nurse availability challenges, transactional pay-per-procedure models may create adverse incentives for hasty services at the bedside, as compared to experienced, salaried W2 clinicians trained in vascular access excellence and compassionate care. Our IV Access Experts take the time needed to ensure the placement of the clinically appropriate line. Furthermore, Vascular Wellness employs a Director of Research and Development responsible for keeping our employees current on the most recent clinical practice guidelines for vascular access and also helps continually improve upon Vascular Access Services. When we say we’re IV Access Experts, it equates to precisely that… we place the right line as clinically indicated, at the right time, the first time, and in doing so, we deliver optimal care at reduced costs.

IV Access Company

Our women-owned, nurse-led IV Access Company was founded on the growing need for better, safer access accessible to all patients at the bedside, and we accomplish that mission daily. Our vision is Advancing Healthcare and Empowering Nurses. Inapt access can cause severe damage to a patient’s vascular structure. Veins are not renewable resources, and their care is critical to improving patient outcomes. As a premier IV Access Company, we understand, appreciate, and consider ourselves privileged to be providing services in this essential area of medicine. We are advancing vascular access health and wellness in many areas, including best practices, safety, education, innovation, and value.

We evaluate, test, and use state-of-the-art supplies from preeminent vendors. Hospitals, skilled care facilities, and others have partnered with Vascular Wellness because we provide our client partners with a dedicated professional team of vascular access experts who are Vascular Access Board Certified and trained and precepted in the placement of standard and advanced lines at the patient’s bedside. Furthermore, as a novel, unique, and progressive IV Access Company, we invest in innovation to develop additional advanced lines and provide them to our clients so our clients can be on the cutting edge in their approach to patient care and service. Having a partner who can handle emergent procedures is critical to your ability to treat patients successfully.

IV Access Training from Vascular Wellness

IV Access Services: Training

IV Access Training

IV Access Training is integrated into our employee model. Not only do our nurse clinicians go through extensive background checks prior to hire, but we also require precepting according to our proprietary competencies before any solo deployment. Each employee must successfully complete a minimum number of IV Access Training procedures which a preceptor monitors before being signed off and allowed to perform any given procedure. After going solo, our nurses are subject to semi-annual skills verification to not only ensure quality but to help integrate any advancements. Our employees strive to practice at the highest levels and are either Vascular Access Board Certified Clinicians or in the process of obtaining their certification. Our IV Access Training includes training on ultrasound guided insertion and vein visualization without assistance from other tools or equipment. All Vascular Wellness Clinicians carry an ultrasound machine and utilize top-rated catheter kits to optimize patient outcomes. In states where allowed, our nurse clinicians can confirm tip placement via ECG or X-ray, as X-ray is a competency that we train and test on as part of our education.
